8.5.19 Moving Head / Carriage Unit when paper jam occurs (Function code 75)
Function
When paper jam occurs at the maintenance unit, move the head carriage to the center in order to
remove the recording paper easily.
Operating Procedure
(1) MFC620CN/425CN/420CN/410CN/215C/210C and FAX2440C
Press the 7 and 5 keys in this order in the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
The head / carriage unit is to be moved to the center of the machine, “PLS OPEN COVER”
displays on the LCD.

Enter 7 and 5 in the initial stage of the maintenance mode by using
key and Set keys.*
(*To enter a numerical code on models having no numerical keypad, press the key several times to
display the numerical code to be entered and then press the Set key. Repeat this operation for each
numerical code.)
The head / carriage unit is to be moved to the center of the machine, “PLS OPEN COVER”
displays on the LCD.
(2) Open the cover of scanner unit
“PLS CLOSE COVER” displays on the LCD. Remove the paper jam.
(3) Close the cover of scanner unit.
The head /Carriage is to be moved back to the home position. Machine is return to the initial
stage of the maintenance mode.
