Fig.9.2. This gives
better
visual feedback
about
the
cursor
position
in the Nyquist
or
Nichols plot.
9.8. USE
OF
THE FIELD SELECT CONTROLS
Remember that the SETUP LABEL "Measurement" and "Display", and the
"Cursor"
pushkeys can be used as
"home"
keys in
order
to
move the Field Selector
quickly
around the screen. Also,
if
any
of
the FIELD SELECT pushkeys are held down, the Field
Selector will
step in the
corresponding
direction
at
a rate
of
about
3Hz,
until
it
cannot
move any further.
9.9. USE
OF
THE FIELD ENTRY CONTROLS
Parameters can be entered into the selected field by use
of
the FIELD ENTRY
incre-
ment/decrement
pushkeys, knob, and numeric keyboard.
1.
To reach the maximum
or
minimum possible values in a field quickly, use the
FIELD ENTRY knob
at
maximum speed. Alternatively, key in a
too
large
or
too
small value via the numeric keyboard and press "ENT". The 2032 will automatically
correct
it
to the end value.
2.
If the
increment/decrement
pushkeys are held down, they will automatically repeat
at a rate
of
about
3
Hz.
3.
Values can be keyed into the echo field
of
the 2032 Display either before
or
after
the Field Selector is moved
to
the field
to
be altered. The value is
not
entered into
the
selected field until the "ENT" key
of
the numeric keyboard is pressed.
4.
The echo field always remembers the last entered value. It can be used again by
moving the
Field Selector
to
the desired field and pressing "ENT".
9.10. USE
OF
SYSTEM RESET
Should
it
be necessary to use SYSTEM RESET, remember the following:
1.
SYSTEM
RESET
switches
off
the
2032
internal
generator.
Hence
after
using
SYS-
TEM RESET, remember
to
turn the
generator
on again, should
it
be in use.
2.
There are four levels
of
SYSTEM RESET, namely, in ascending
order
of
severity,
SYSTEM RESET, SYSTEM RESET
1,
SYSTEM RESET
2,
and SYSTEM RESET
9.
Use
of
SYSTEM RESET 9 should be avoided
if
at all possible, since
it
clears the
user-defined MEASUREMENT and
DISPLAY SETUPs. Additional SYSTEM RESETs
include SYSTEM RESET
Cursor,
to
reset the Cursor, and SYSTEM RESET Self
Test,
to
activate Self Test.
9.11. SIGNIFICANCE
OF
A STAR
IN
A FIELD
Certain fields, namely the MEASUREMENT SETUP Label Field, the Number
of
Averages
Field, and the Data Source Field will sometimes display a star. The significance
of
the
star is as
follows:
