5.3.4. Y -scaling
Fig.5.16. The Y-scaling
Control
Fields
The
Y-scaling
control
fields
control
the scaling
of
the Y-axis. Precisely how the fields
are used depends on what is being displayed.
In
the following, a general
description
of
the Y -scaling fields is given
first
for
time
domain functions and then
for
frequency
domain functions, followed by
exceptions
to
these general descriptions.
a) Time Domain Functions
Up
to
five Y -scaling
control
fields are used in the display
of
a time domain function.
They
control:
1 . Y
-axis
full scale
2.
Y
-axis
units, absolute
or
relative
3.
Y
-axis
dB reference
4.
Y
-axis
range in dB
5.
Y
-axis
lin.-log.
Field
3 disappears
from
the 2032 Display when
read-out
in absolute units is selected,
and Field 4 disappears when a linear Y
-axis
is selected. Note that while
read-out
with
logarithmic
scaling is possible in both absolute
or
relative units,
read-out
with linear
scaling
is only possible in absolute units.
