Tension Profiler
Unlike the hosiery and knitting textile machines, etc. which always provide a hardware synchronization
related to the various processing steps, in the yarn preparation machines, the only possible way to obtain a
synchronization is to implement an automatic synchronization through a continuous reading of the amount of
yarn absorbed.
The Smart Matrix Windingfeeder System allows you to adjust in dynamic and predefined way the yarn
tension during the textile machine operation.
This “dynamic and pre-defined” adjustment is called “Tension Profiler” and allows you to obtain several
processing combinations to meet the specific application needs.
The Tension Profiler function can be either enabled or disabled with the TENSION MODE parameter within the
PROFILE window.
When it is disabled (TENSION MODE = P1/P2), the tension applied to the yarn will keep a constant trend
depending on the values set in WORK TENS P1 and if required in WORK TENS P2.
If, on the contrari, it is enabled (TENSION MODE = PROFILER), then the user will have the possibilità of
programming the desired tension trend trought all the parameters of PROFILE window.
Application Examples Based on Tension Profiler Function
1 - Tension Profiler Function Disabled (TENSION MODE = P1/P2)
You may setup only the following values:
- WORK TENS P1 [0.2 to 99.5 g]
- WORK TENS P2 [0.2 to 99.5 g or OFF]
- INC/DEC TENS – It can be handled with external Inc/Dec commands only.
- TARGET METER [1 to 1.000.000 meters or OFF]
In this case, a constant tension (WORK TENS P1) will be applied to the yarn for the entire working cycle and
a different tension value (WORK TENS P2) will be applied (if activated) during the machine stationary
conditions.
The Target option (if activated) will generate the relevant signaling when reaching the number of meters set.
Example of parameter setup in the PROFILE window:
WORK TENS P1 = 10
WORK TENS P2 = 5
INC/DEC TENS = 0.0
TARGET METER = OFF
2 - Tension Profiler Function Enabled (TENSION MODE = PROFILER) with Target De-
activated
In some applications, it is the textile machine that establishes when the package is completed, therefore the
yarn feeding device is not requested to generate the target output.
However, it could be useful to operate with 2 different tension values:
