Automatic adjustment of the position controller to
the operating conditions (X.TUNE)
WARNING
Danger due to the valve position changing when the X.TUNE
function is running.
WhentheX.TUNEfunctionisrununderoperatingpressure,
thereisanacuteriskofinjury.
▶ NeverrunX.TUNEwhiletheprocessisrunning.
▶ Securesystemagainstunintentionalactivation.
NOTE
An incorrect supply pressure or incorrectly connected
operating medium pressure may cause the controller to be
wrongly adjusted.
▶ Run X.TUNE in each case atthesupplypressureavailablein
subsequentoperation(=pneumaticauxiliarypower).
▶ RuntheX.TUNEfunctionpreferablywithout operating
mediumpressuretoexcludeinterferenceduetoowforces.
Forstartingupyoumustspecifythefollowingbasicsettings:
• Settingtheinputsignal(INPUT)
• Automaticadjustmentofthepositioncontroller(X.TUNE)
• Adjustmentofthecontrollerparametersfortheposition
controller.Optimizationoccursaccordingtothecriteriaofthe
shortestpossibletransienttimewithsimultaneousfreedom
fromovershoot.
To stop X.TUNE, press the left or right selection key
STOP
.
Automaticallyadjustthepositioncontrollerasfollows:
→ Press MENUfor3s.Switchingfromprocesslevel
settinglevel.
→ / Select X.TUNE.
→ Hold down RUNaslongascountdown(5...)is
running.
Duringtheautomaticadjustmentmessagesaredisplayed
indicatingtheprogressoftheX.TUNE
(e.g.“TUNE #1....”).
Whentheautomaticadjustmentends,themessage“TUNE
ready”

is indicated.
→ Pressanykey.Returntothemainmenu(MAIN).
→ Select EXIT.Switchingfromsettinglevel process
level.
Youhaveautomaticallyadjustedthepositioncontroller.
You must exit the main menu by pressing the left
selection key
EXIT
beforethemodieddataissaved
in the memory (EEPROM).
