WARNING
47-83A - Never try to charge the battery if the electrolyte in the battery is frozen.
1. Before you charge the battery, check the level of
the electrolyte.
2. It is difficult to give an exact charging rate because
of the follow i
ng variable conditions: (1) temperature
of the electrolyte, (2) level of charge, and (3)
condition of the battery. Use the charging guide for
the corre ct c
harging rate a nd time.
3. See the following for the reserve capacity of
the battery in this mac hine. Battery - General

4. The charging rate must be decreased if too much
gas causes the electrolyte to flow from the cells or if
the electrolyte rises above 52 °C (125 °F).
5. The battery is fully charged when, over a three hour
period at a low charging rate, no cell is giving too
much gas, and the specific gravity does not change.
