Cleanthemachineregularly.Accumulationsofgrease,
dirtanddebriscancauseinjuriesordamagethema-
chine.

Periodicallyinspectthefasteningofthemaincompo-
nents,aspartofthemachinemaintenanceprogramme:
counterweight,turntablebearingandoperator'scom-
partment.Intheeventofproblems,consultyourCASE
CONSTRUCTIONDealer.
•
Iftheaccumulatorisnotfunctioningcorrectly,consult
yourCASECONSTRUCTIONDealer.Nevertryto
carryoutanyservicingoperationontheaccumulator.If
thisinstructionisnotfollowedseriousinjurycanresult.
•
Theaccumulatorischargedwithnitrogenunderhigh
pressure.Donotweldorallowamestocomenearto
theaccumulator.
•
Thereishighpressurefuelinthefeedpipewhentheen-
gineisrunningandimmediatelyafterithasbeenshut
down.Waitfor2minutesafterengineshutdownbe-
foreyoudoanymaintenanceorinspectionstoallow
thepressuretodropinthepipe.
•
TheDieselParticulateDiffuser(DPD)andtheexhaust
gasfromtheexhaustsystemareextremelyhotwhile
theengineisrunning,duringDPDregenerationandim-
mediatelyafterdriving.Becarefulnottoinadvertently
touchthem.Otherwise,youcouldgetburned.
•
High-voltageischargedtothecontrollerand/ortothe
injectorwhiletheengineisrunningandimmediately
afterithasbeenshutdown.
Donottouchthecontrollerortheinjector.
Ifitisnecessarytotouchthemformaintenancepur-
poses,consultyourCASECONSTRUCTIONDealer.

•
Everyday,checkthatthelockingbarfunctionscorrectly
andthatitisnotfouledbyforeignmatter.Cleanthe
lockingsystemifnecessary.
Preventingresorexplosions
•
Enginefuelcancauseanexplosionorare.
Neverrefuelwhentheengineisrunning.
Neversmokewhilerefuelling.
Takeallnecessarysafetymeasureswhenwelding,
grindingorworkingnearaame.
•
Whenammablematerialssuchasplants,drygrasses
andpaperwastearepresentnearthemachine,they
canbethecauseofare.
•
Alwaysuseanon-inammablesolventforcleaning
parts.
•
Asparkoralightcancausethehydrogeninabatteryto
explode.Toavoidallriskofexplosion,besuretofollow
theinstructionsbelow:
Whendisconnectingbatterycables,alwaysdisconnect
thenegativecable(-)rst.
Whenconnectingbatterycables,alwaysconnectthe
negativecable(-)last.
Nevershort-circuitthebatteryterminalswithmetalob-
jects.
Donotweld,grindorsmokenearthebatteries.
•
Beforeperformingmaintenancefortheelectricalsys-
temsorelectricwelding,alwaysplacethekeyofthe
batterymasterswitchin“O”(Off)position(ifequipped)
ordisconnectthenegative(-)terminalofthebatteries,
inordertocutofftheelectriccircuit.
•
Alwaysstorebatteriesinasafeplace,outofthereach
ofchildren.
•
Sparkscanyfromtheelectricalsystemortheengine
exhaust.Beforerunningthemachineinanareawhere
theremaybeinammablegasses,makesurethereis
adequateventilation.
•
Ifpossible,makesurethereisareextinguisher(not
supplied)withineasyreachonboardthemachine.
Makesurethereextinguisherisregularlyservicedin
conformitywiththemanufacturer'sinstructions.
•
Cleanthemachineregularly,removingalldebrisand
inammablematerial.
•
Makesuretherearenoleaksandreplaceanydamaged
hoses,linesorconnectors.Afteranyrepairwork,clean
themachinebeforeoperating.
Preventionofburns
•
Theelectrolyteinthebatteriescancauseserious
burns.Thebatterycontainssulphuricacid.Avoid
contactwithskin,eyesandclothing.
Antidote:
External:rinsethoroughlywithwaterandremove
soiledclothes.
Internal:donotinducevomiting.Rinsethemouthout
withwater.Seekmedicaladvice.
Eyes:rinsethoroughlywithwaterfor15minutesand
seekmedicaladvice.
•
Whenbatteryelectrolytefreezesitcanexplodeifyou
trytochargethebatteryorstartuptheenginewitha
boosterbattery.T opreventtheelectrolytefromfreez-
ing,alwayskeepthebatteryfullycharged.
•
Thebatteryproducesexplosivegases.Keepallnaked
ames,sparksandcigarettesaway.Ensureadequate
ventilationwhenchargingbatteriesorwhenusingina
connedplace.Alwaysprotectyoureyeswhenwork-
ingnearthebattery.
•
Boilingcoolantsolutioncansprayoutiftheradiatorcap
isremovedwhilethesystemisstillhot.Beforeremov-
ingthecap,letthesystemcooldownandthenturn
thecaptoitsrstnotch,waitinguntilallpressureisre-
leased.Thenremovethecap.
•
Nevertouchbatteryterminalswiththehandsaselec-
trolysiscantakeplacewithinthehumanbodyanddam-
agevitalorgans.
