Preparingforstorage
Thefollowingprocedureapplieswhenthemachineistobestoredforamonthormore.Storethemachineonat,
levelground,insideabuildingor,ifnotpossible,outsideandcoveredwithatarpaulin.Beforestoringthemachine,
carryoutthefollowingoperations:
1.Cleanthemachine.
2.Makesurethatthemachinehasnodamagedor
missingparts.Replacethemifnecessary.
3.Retractthecylinderrodsasforaspossibleand
lowertheboomuntiltheattachmentisrestingonthe
ground.Lowerthedozerblade(ifequipped)tothe
ground.
4.Greasethemachinethoroughly.Theexposedsur-
facesofthecylinderrodsshouldbegreasedorcov-
eredwithaprotectivelm.ConsultyourCASECON-
STRUCTIONDealer.
NOTE:Whenthemachineresumesservice,thelmwill
disappearautomatically.
5.Whiletheengineisstillwarm,draintheoilsump,
replacetheoillterandllwithspeciedoil.Check
theoillevelandaddmoreifnecessary.
6.Cleanorreplacetheairlterelement.
7.Checkthelevelofcoolantsolution.Ifthemachine
iswithin100hoursofthenextscheduledcoolant
change,changethecoolantnow.
8.Removethebatteries,cleanthebatteryhousings
andmakesurenottoleaveanytracesofacid.Store
thebatteriessafelyinacoolanddrylocation,where
thetemperatureishigherthan0°C(32.0°F)ordis-
connectthecablefromthenegative(-)terminal.
9.Paintanyareaswherethepaintworkisnotgood.
10.Plugtheairlterinletandtheexhaustpipe.
11.Removetheignitionkeyandplacea"Donotoperate"
labelontheright-handcontrolarmandthenplacethe
functioncancellationleverintheraisedposition.
12.Lockthehoods,sidedoorsandthecabdoor.
