CHANGHE FREEDOM SERVICE MANUAL BRAKES
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
When the foot brake pedal is depressed, hydraulic pressure is developed in the master cylinder to
actuate pistons (front wheel brakes and rear wheel brakes).
The master cylinder is a tandem master cylinder. Two brake pipes are connected to the master
cylinder and each of these pipes has its own circuit independently. Brake piping shown below are all
front/rear split type. One of 2 pipes coming from master cylinder connects right and left front wheel
brakes to LSPV and the other connects right and left rear wheel brakes through LSPV.
NOTICE:
In the rear part of the front/rear split brake piping, two pipes are connected to the right side
wheel cylinder. And their other ends are connected to the master cylinder and left side wheel
cylinder respectively.
The parking brake is of mechanical type and utilizes the shoes in rear brakes. Pulling the
parking lever mechanically forces the shoes against the drum; this force is transmitted through a
linkage and wire cables.
