CHANGHE FREEDOM SERVICE MANUAL MANUAL RACK AND PINION
STEERING WHEEL
REMOVAL
1） Disconnected the negative cable from
the battery.
2） Remove steering wheel upper cover.
3） Remove steering shaft nut.
Remove steering wheel with special tools.
CAUTION：
Do not hammer the end of the shaft.
Hammering it will loosen the plastic shear
pins which maintain the column length and
impair the collapsible design of the column.
INSTALLATION
1) Install steering wheel to steering shaft，
and also aligning marks.
2) Tighten steering shaft nut to specified
torque.
Tighten Torque (steering shaft nut):
25~40 N.ｍ
3）Install steering column upper cover.
4）Connect the negative cable with the
Battery.
COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY、
STEERING COLUMN AND LOWER
SHAFT
REMOVAL
1) Steering wheel is turned to make the
front wheels are in the straight forward state.
2) the negative cable is disconnected
from the battery
3) Remove steering wheel, if necessary.
