CHANGHE FREEDOM SERVICE MANUAL ENGINE MECHANICAL
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1. The engine is a water-cooled, in-line 4 cylinder, 4-stroke cycle gasoline unit with its single
overhead camshaft. The single overhead camshaft is mounted over the cylinder head, it is driven from
crankshaft through timing belt .this engine has no push rods. Thus, drive for valves are more direct and
enables to follow the crankshaft without any delay.
2. The distinctive features of this engine may be summarized as follow:
1) Because of inlet an exhaust ports arranged for cross-flow pattern, with valves located in “V”-type
configuration, both volumetric and scavenging efficiencies are very high.
2) The combustion chamber forms between piston crown and cylinder head is of a multi-spherical
type shaped to provide squish. This feature is calculated to make available greater horsepower from a
lesser amount of fuel.
3) The support for camshaft and rocker shaft are integral with the cylinder head, so that the valve
mechanism noise is markedly by the structural rigidity and, moreover, that the number of valve
mechanism parts is reduced, let alone a more compact size of the engine.
4) The timing belt for driving the camshaft runs quiet and is light in weight.
5) DAZT-02 high cast iron is used for the material of the cylinder. The block is shaped to present
deep skirts and retain greater rigidity.
6) The crankshaft is castled by 40Cr, and is supported by five bearings for vibration-free running.
3. PCV circulatory system
PCV system is preventing the exhaust gas from crankcase enter into air creating pollution. The
exhaust gas flows into cylinder head valve chamber through the oil way in the cylinder block，and then
the oil of the gas has been separated through the oil-gas separation sheet in valve chamber，the
separated air flows into intake manifold through PCV valve and then flows into combustion chamber.
