suggests that the user identify these patients and be prepared to treat allergic reactions promptly
before scanning.
Only water-solvable solutions or gel can be used. Petroleum or mineral oil-based materials may
harm the cover.
When the transvaginal probe is activated outside patient’s body, its acoustic output level should
be decreased to avoid any harmful interference with other equipment.
Operation Procedure:
Put on medical sterile glove
Get the condom for the package.
Unfold the condom.
Load some ultrasound gel into condom.
Take the condom with one hand, and put the probe head into the condom.
Fasten the condom on the end of the probe handle.
Confirm the integrity of the condom, and repeat the above steps to the condom if any damage
to the condom is found.
9.3.3 Cleaning and Disinfecting TV and TR Probes
We strongly recommend wearing gloves when cleaning and disinfecting any endocavitary
probe.
Every time before and after each exam, please clean the probe handle and disinfect the
transvaginal and transrectal probes probe using liquid chemical germicides
If the probe is contaminated with body fluids, you should disinfect the probe after cleaning.
Regard any exam waste as potentially infectious and dispose of it accordingly.
CAUTION:
Since the probe is not waterproof, you should disconnect it from the system before cleaning or
disinfecting.
