Anti-lock braking system
and electronic brake force
distribution
Linkedsystemswhichimprovethestabilityand
manoeuvrabilityofyourvehiclewhenbraking,in
particularonpoororslipperysurfaces.
Activation
Theanti-lockbrakingsystemcomesinto
operationautomaticallywhenthereisariskof
wheellock.
NormaloperationoftheABSmaymakeitself
feltbyslightvibrationofthebrakepedal.
Operating fault
Ifthiswarninglampcomeson,
accompaniedbyanaudiblesignal
andamessageinthescreen,it
indicatesamalfunctionoftheanti-
lockbrakingsystemwhichcould
result in loss of control of the vehicle
whenbraking.
Ifthiswarninglampcomeson,
togetherwiththeSTOP and ABS
warninglamps,accompaniedbyan
audiblesignalandamessageinthe
screen,itindicatesamalfunctionof
theelectronicbrakeforcedistribution
which could result in loss of control of
thevehiclewhenbraking.
Emergency braking
assistance
Systemwhich,inanemergency,enablesyou
toobtaintheoptimumbrakingpressuremore
quickly,thusreducingthestoppingdistance.
Activation
Itistriggeredbythespeedatwhichthebrake
pedalispressed.
The effect of this is a reduction in the
resistance of the pedal and an increase in
brakingefficiency.
You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
In either case, contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifiedworkshop.
