Hill start assist
On an ascending slope, with the vehicle
stationary, the vehicle is held for a brief
moment when you release the brake pedal:
- ifyouareinfirstgearorneutralwitha
manualgearbox,
- if you are in position D or M with an
automaticgearbox.
Operation
On a descending slope, with the vehicle
stationary and reverse gear engaged, the
vehicle is held for a brief moment when you
release the brake pedal.
Operating fault
Ifafaultoccurswiththesystem,thesewarning
lampscomeon.ContactaCITROËNdealer
oraqualifiedworkshoptohavethesystem
checked.
Systemwhichkeepsyourvehicleimmobilised
temporarily(approximately2seconds)when
startingonagradient,thetimeittakesto
moveyourfootfromthebrakepedaltothe
acceleratorpedal.
Thisfunctionisonlyactivewhen:
- thevehicleiscompletelystationary,with
yourfootonthebrakepedal,
- whencertainconditionsofgradientare
met,
- withthedriver’sdoorclosed.
The hill start assist function cannot be
deactivated.
Donotleavethevehiclewhileitisbeing
heldinthehillstartassistphase.
If you need to leave the vehicle while
theengineisrunning,applytheparking
brakemanuallythenensurethatthe
parkingbrakewarninglampison(not
flashing)intheinstrumentpanel.
