Inwintryconditions,snowchainsimprovetractionaswellasthebehaviourofthevehiclewhen

Advice on installation
F Ifyouhavetofitthechainsduringa
journey,stopthevehicleonaflatsurface
onthesideoftheroad.
F Applytheparkingbrakeandpositionany
wheelchockstopreventmovementofyour
vehicle.
F Fitthechainsfollowingtheinstructions
providedbythemanufacturer.
F Moveoffgentlyanddriveforafew
moments,withoutexceeding30mph
(50km/h).
F Stopyourvehicleandcheckthatthesnow
chainsarecorrectlytightened.
Useonlythechainsdesignedtobefittedtothe
typeofwheelfittedtoyourvehicle:

Itisstronglyrecommendedthatbefore

chainsonalevelanddrysurface.
Thesnowchainsmustbefittedonly
tothefrontwheels.Theymustnever
be fitted to "space-saver" type spare
wheels.
Takeaccountofthelegislationinforce
in your country on the use of snow
chainsandthemaximumrunningspeed
authorised.
Avoiddrivingwithsnowchainsonroads
that have been cleared of snow, to
avoiddamagingyourvehicle'styresand
theroadsurface.Ifyourvehicleisfitted
withalloywheels,checkthatnopartof
thechainoritsfixingsisincontactwith
thewheelrim.
