Fuel used for petrol
engines
Thepetrolenginesarecompatiblewith
E10bio-petrol(containing10%ethanol),
conformingtoEuropeanstandardsEN228
andEN15376.
E85typefuels(containingupto85%ethanol)
arereservedexclusivelyforvehiclesmarketed
fortheuseofthistypeoffuel(BioFlex
vehicles).Thequalityoftheethanolmust
complywithEuropeanstandardEN15293.
Fuel used for Diesel
engines
TheDieselenginesarecompatiblewith
biofuelswhichconformtocurrentandfuture
Europeanstandards(Dieselfuelwhich
complieswithstandardEN590mixedwith
abiofuelwhichcomplieswithstandard
EN14214)availableatthepumps(containing
upto7%FattyAcidMethylEster).
B30biofuelcanbeusedincertainDiesel
engines.However,thisuse,evenoccasional,
requiresstrictapplicationofthespecial
servicingconditions.ContactaCITROËN
dealeroraqualifiedworkshop.
Theuseofanyothertypeof(bio)fuel
(vegetableoranimaloils,pureordiluted,
domesticfuel...)isstrictlyprohibited(riskof
damagetotheengineandfuelsystem).
ThepetrolorDieselengineofyourvehicleis
fitted with a catalytic converter, a device which
helpstoreducethelevelofharmfulemissions
intheexhaustgases.
For petrol engines, the use of unleaded fuel
is compulsory.
Thefillerneckisnarrower,admittingunleaded
petrolnozzlesonly.
Fuel supply cut-off
Yourvehicleisequippedwithasafetydevice
which cuts off the fuel supply in the event of a
collision.
If you have put in the wrong fuel for
your vehicle, you must have the tank
drained and refilled with the correct
fuel before you start the engine.
