Cable Inter-rack Local Management Network (LMN)
Inter-rack cabling in a multi-rack ClusterStor L300 and L300N system applies to only the Local Management
Network LMN). Management switches in the base rack are connected to the management switches in each
storage rack.
The figure shows cabling for a system with a base rack and 3 storage racks. The figure also shows the inter-
switch link between the management switches in each rack.
The following ports are recommended for these connections:
24-port management switches
● Base and storage racks:
○ Port 17 is reserved for connection between the base rack and 1 storage rack.
○ Ports 5, 7, and 19 are also available.
○ Port 13 is the ISL and is not available.
● When a 24-port switch is used in the base rack, the system may consist of from 1 to 5 racks total.
48-port management switch
● Base rack:
○ Ports 13, 16 through 24, 29, 31, 41, and 43 are reserved for connections to storage racks 1 through 14.
○ Ports 1 through 12, 14, and 15 are also available.
○ Port 37 is the ISL and is not available.
● When a 48-port switch is used in the base rack, the system may consist of from 1 to 29 racks total.
