Power On the ClusterStor L300 and L300N System
Prerequisites
System Access Requirements
Root access is required to perform this procedure on a ClusterStor L300 and L300N system.
Contact Cray support for root system access.
For other than first-time power up: It is assumed that the system has been previously
configured and that the default IP address for the management nodes has been defined and
configured.
Service Interruption Level
Interrupt (requires taking the Lustre file system offline)
Required Tools and Equipment
● ESD strap, boots, garment or other approved protection
● Console with monitor, 132 columns, 32 rows; keyboard, PC serial port configured for
115.2 Kbps, 8 data bits, no parity and 1 stop bit
● Micro HDMI cable P/N 101811700 or an RS-232 serial cable to monitor the boot
messages
● Chrome browser is recommended
● Default username (admin) and password (admin)
About this task
Use this procedure to power on a ClusterStor L300 and L300N system version 3.0.0 or above.
IMPORTANT: Do not use the bePowerOnNodes script for ClusterStor L300 and L300N systems that are
operating in Daily mode. The ClusterStor L300 and L300N ships in Daily mode and does not require the
bePowerOnNodes script to be run before performing the first-run configuration.
Procedure
1. At the back of the rack, verify that the power switches on all 2U24 and 5U84 enclosures and rack PDUs are in
the OFF position.
a. Confirm that power is disabled to the 5U84 SSUs.
Each 5U84 has two power supply units (PSUs), with power switches located below the fan modules.
b. Confirm that power is disabled to the 2U24 enclosures.
The 2U24 has two power-cooling modules (PCMs) with power switches located next to the I/O modules.
c. Confirm that power is disabled to any 2U24 MMU/SMU/CMU/ and ESU.
