Pre Operation Check List 5-9
Throttle lever
Check to see that the throttle lever operates
correctly. It must open smoothly and go back
to the idle status when released. Have a
dealer repair as necessary for proper
operation.
Fittings and fasteners
Always check the tightness of chassis fittings
and fasteners before riding. Take the ATV to
a dealer or refer to the Service Manual for
correct tightening torque specifications.
Lights
Check the headlights and tail/brake lights to
make sure they are in working condition.
Repair as necessary for proper operation.
Switches
Check the operation of all switches. Have a
dealer repair as necessary for proper
operation.
Idling
High idle speed may cause engine damage.
A damage throttle cable or an ECU failure
may result in high idle speed.
As this ATV has an EFI system, idle speed
adjustment must be done via a special
computer, which can modify the ECU
program. Check with a dealer if necessary.
NOTE:
The EFI system ECU takes about 1 minute
for self diagnostics every time, when the
ignition is turned on. Check idle speed after 1
minute.
Ignition and Emergency Switches:
Ensure that the ignition and emergency
switch can both turn off the engine.
