• The rear accessory harness wires terminate
under the bed, near the bumper on the passen-
ger side upper frame channel. See Figure 9.41.
28. The Battery is located under the parcel bin,
beneath the driver’s seat.
• Release the camloc fasteners and remove the
parcel bin to reach the battery. See Figure 9.42.
• The battery is secured by a metal strap and two
5/16” screws. They can be removed using a 1/2”
wrench. See Figure 9.43.
• Both terminals are protected by rubber boots.
• The battery post clamps can be loosened and
removed using a 10mm wrench.
• The battery part number shown in the first year
Illustrated Parts List is for the wet battery use on
the production.
The dry battery used for service is part num-
ber: 725-04514. This is a 12-volt battery having
a capacity of 540 cold cranking amps at zero
deg. f. (-18 deg.c.).
CAUTION: When disconnecting or removing the
battery, disconnect the ground cable first. When
reconnecting or installing a battery, connect the
ground cable last. These steps will minimize the
chance of shorting-out the battery posts with a
tool.

outlined in the Operator’s Manual.
