Device Management Methods
The DGS-3100 Series provides different methods for managing the device including:
•
Web Based Management Interface
•
SNMP-Based Management
•
Command Line Console
Web Based Management Interface
Once the device is installed, network mangers can configure the switch, monitor the LED panel, and display statistics
graphically via a web browser, including:
• Netscape Navigator (version 6.2 and higher)
• Microsoft® Internet Explorer (version 5.0)
• Mozilla Firefox (version 2.0)
SNMP-Based Management
The system also provides SNMP-compatible console program, and supports SNMPv1, SNMPv2, and SNMPv3. The SNMP
agent decodes the incoming SNMP messages, and replies to requests with MIB objects stored in the database. The SNMP
agent updates the MIB objects to generate statistics and counters.
Command Line Console
The device also supports device configuration using the Command Line Interface. The system is connected via a computer
or terminal to the serial console port.
