2.7.2 Inside the electrical cabinet
PLC and expansion modules
The PLC is what makes the connection between the programmed digital part and the physical
part of the Unit. In this case more inputs and outputs than the PLC has are needed, so there
have been added expansion modules to expand the capability of the PLC.
Variable-Frequency Drive (VFD)
The VFD is used to control the AC motor speed and torque. Based on its communication with
the PLC the speed of the motor is adjusted at all times to fit the production capacity.
Router
If the router is connected to internet, it is possible for Dalum Beverage Equipment to monitor
and analyze performance of the Unit.
Fuses
For safety reasons the system has fuses to provide overcurrent protection.
