CO2-Recovery Plant 22 EN/2020
3.3.4 Coolant connection
Connect the supply coolant line to the inlet of the cooling loop of the CO
2
Recovery Unit.
Connect the exit of the plant cooling loop to the return line of coolant.
Fix hose ties at all ends.
Open the main isolation coolant valves.
Open the valves at the compressor cooling loop.
Check for any leakage.
Check the presence of air inside the compressor cooling loop through the transparent loop
pipes.
If air exists, remove one of the transparent pipes until all air drain out. Then connect the hose in
its place properly.
3.3.5 Electricity connection
To prevent injury (electric shock), the electrical connection should be made only by authorized
specialist staff.
Besides the Unit Control Panel, connect the plant to the electric power supply using 5-core,1.5
mm2 with 3 x phase, 1x earthing and 1 x normal.
Ensure appropriate rated current and voltage available for the plant as specified in the
datasheet.
To have the system function properly, the compressor motor shafts must rotate in a clockwise
direction (seen from the motor side)
Therefore, it is essential to check whether the individual phases of the alternating current supply
have been connected correctly after the machine has been electrically connected.
3.3.6 Tank connection
When connecting the tank there are three main points:
1. The liquid CO2 outlet from the CO2 Unit is a 46-bar pressurized 6x1 mm seamless
stainless-steel pipe connected and joint by compression fittings. The transfer Valve 06VA40
should be placed as close to the Storage Tank Liquid Filling line as possible and the pipe must
be insulated by at least 30 mm insulation. Use only pressure rated compression fittings
delivered by DALUM for the pressurized pipe connections and follow this installation
instructions: Clean the pipe end for burrs, fully inset the tube into the fitting and against the
shoulder, tight the nut by finger-tightening. Mark the nut position to the body with a durable pen.
While holding the fitting body steady with one spanner, tight the nut with the other spanner by
turning it 1-1/4 Clockwise.
If the tank and P&ID diagram is not delivered by DALUM, please consult DALUM or the tank
supplier for correct connection.
2. The CO2 storage tank level transmitter must be connected to the CO2 unit to prevent
overfilling the tank. Power supply to and control signal return for the tank level transmitter needs
