CO2-Recovery Plant 50 EN/2020
8.2 Special situations
8.2.1 Power outage
In case of a power cut, the system will stop, and the control will turn off. The input of CO2 will be
closed and the PRV will open if the pressure reaches 0.40 bar. The connection to the storage
tank will also be closed. Once the supply has been restored, the Unit must be reset at
STAR/STOP button.
8.2.2 Start up
If the Unit has not been running for some time or are being started for the first time you might
experience a few alarms and warnings.
The compressor temperature will not be correct until the Unit has been in operation for a while.
The pressure will slowly build up to the required levels.
The regenerating dehydrator will take a little while to reach the desired temperature.
If the Scrubber is dry, it might need two tries to start.
In some cases, it can be necessary to use the Start/stop button on the PLC a few times, to pass
those initial alarms. If a certain alarm persists or keeps appearing, there might be a problem that
requires solving.
8.2.3 After maintenance
Always make sure that the Unit is running as supposed to after maintenance, perform a Routine
check as per section 6.
8.3 Further trouble shooting Dalum CO2 unit:
COMPRESSOR
Normal Compressor Pressures in continuous operation:
Inlet Pressure: 0,12 0,40 bar
Stage 1: 3- 5 bar
Stage 2: 13-17 bar
Stage 3: 32- 42 bar
Average Rotation (from HMI): 12-22 rotation between CO2 level sensors.
Error indications:
Average Rotations High during continuous operation (above 25-45):
1. Leaking or sticking inlet or exit valve stage 1. (Combined with high inlet pressure)
2. Leaking compressor seal stage 2 (can hear whistling sound in crank house, Low
P2, seal replacement needed).
