The PowerEdge R740xd is a 2U rack server that supports up to:
• Two Intel Xeon Scalable Processors
• 24 DIMM slots
• Two AC or DC power supply units
• 32 SAS, SATA, Nearline SAS hard drives or SSDs, and up to 24 NVMe drives. For more information about supported drives, see the

NOTE: All instances of SAS, SATA hard drives, NVMe and SSDs are referred to as drives in this document, unless
specified otherwise.
