To take an entire library online, take all of its partitions online.
1 Using the library's operator panel, select Operations > Change Partition Mode; or, using the Web client, select
Operations > Partitions > Change Mode.
2 For each partition that you want to take online, click Online.
3 Click Apply.
Taking a Library Offline
To take an entire library offline, take all of its partitions offline.
1 Using the library's operator panel, select Operations > Change Partition Mode; or, using the Web client, select
Operations > Partitions > Change Mode.
2 For each partition that you want to take offline, click Offline.
3 Click Apply.

Specific Instructions for LTO-5 Tape Drives
Currently, the library does not support using the following features on LTO-5 tape drives:
• Ethernet port
• Port 2 on dual-port tape drives

Caution: LTO-5 Fibre Channel tape drives can be configured for speeds of up to 8 Gb/s. If they are configured for 8
Gb/s, you should connect them directly to a host and not to an FC I/O blade, because the FC I/O blade only allows
speeds up to 4 Gb/s. If you connect an LTO-5 Fibre Channel tape drive to an FC I/O blade, you must configure the tape
drive speed to 4 Gb/s or less (see 
Setting Tape Drive Parameters).
