Setting Up the Balance
Instruments with sliding-door draft shield:
§ Place components inside the chamber in the
following order:
– Draft shield base plate
– Drip/breeze ring
– Pan support
– Weighing pan
Instruments with a round glass draft ring:
§ Position the components listed below in the
order given:
– Place the lower lid on the balance with the
raised edge facing upwards and turn it until
it is firmly in position
– Pan support
– Weighing pan
– Glass draft ring
– Place the upper lid on the draft shield ring
with the raised edge facing downwards
Instruments with a round weighing pan
§ Position the components listed below in the
order given:
– Pan support
– Weighing pan
Instruments with a rectangular weighing pan:
§ Place the weighing pan on the balance
