Overview

The Ditec DOD industrial sectional door automation system is designed for the automation of industrial sectional doors, providing efficient and reliable operation. This system is a Ditec DOD14 model, with variations including DOD14PS and DOITDD1P, each offering specific functionalities.

Function Description

The Ditec DOD system automates the opening and closing of industrial sectional doors. It is designed to integrate with various safety and control devices, ensuring secure and compliant operation. The core of the system involves a motor (DOD14) that drives the door via a chain link-up or direct axle installation, depending on the specific model and door configuration. The system supports both axle installation (DOD14) and sliding door installation (DOD14 and DODR1N1).

The automation includes features for managing door movement, such as deceleration during opening and closing, and precise limit switch adjustments to define the door's travel. It also incorporates safety measures to prevent crushing, shearing, conveyance, and danger zone incidents. The system is designed for continuous operation (S2) or intermittent use (S3), making it suitable for a range of industrial applications.

Important Technical Specifications

The Ditec DOD14 motor operates on a power supply of 230 V~ 50/60 Hz. Key technical data for the DOD14 model includes:

  • Power supply: 230 V~ 50/60 Hz
  • Absorption: 3 A
  • Motor power: 350 W
  • Torque: 60 Nm
  • Holding torque: 300 Nm
  • Revolution: 22 rpm
  • Transmission shaft: 27.5
  • Capacitor: 22 µF
  • Service class: 4 - INTENSIVE (100 cycles a day for 10 years or 200 cycles a day for 5 years)
  • Continuous operating time (S2): 30 min
  • Intermittence (S3): 50%
  • Temperature range: -20°C to +55°C (with NIO enable) or -35°C to +55°C (without NIO enable)
  • Degree of protection: IP40
  • Weight: 15 kg
  • Control panel: LCA85 (for DOD14) or LCA85B (for DOITDD1P)

For axle installation, the system can achieve various door speeds and maximum forces depending on the pinion, crown, and reduction ratio. For example, with a 1/2"x5/16" Z=24 pinion and a 1:1 reduction ratio, the DOD14 can achieve a door speed of 0.12 m/s and a max force of 1176 N. With a 1/2"x5/16" Z=39 pinion and a 1:1.625 reduction ratio, the door speed can be 0.16 m/s with a max force of 1573 N.

For sliding door installation, using a DOD14 with a DODR1N1 (Z24) and a 1:1 reduction ratio, the door speed is 0.11 m/s with a max force of 1200 N.

Electrical connections for the DOD14 and DOITDD1P models typically involve a 4G x 1.5 mm² motor wiring and 3 x 0.5 mm² wiring for limit switches. The control panel (LCA85/LCA85B) manages these connections and integrates additional contacts, opening/closing limit switches, and a brake.

Usage Features

The Ditec DOD system offers several features to enhance usability and safety:

  • Installation Flexibility: The system supports both direct axle installation and chain link-up installation, accommodating different door types and configurations. It can also be installed on sliding doors.
  • Adjustable Parameters: Users can adjust various parameters through the control panel, including deceleration settings, opening and closing times, and limit switch positions. This allows for fine-tuning the door's operation to specific requirements.
  • Safety Devices Integration: The system is designed to integrate with various safety devices such as photocells, sensitive edges, and emergency stops, which are crucial for preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Manual Release: In case of power failure or emergency, the system includes a cord release mechanism for manual operation of the sectional doors. This feature is critical for maintaining accessibility and safety.
  • Configuration Wizard: The control panel features a configuration wizard (WZ) to simplify the setup process, allowing users to quickly set up basic operating parameters.
  • Self-Learning Functionality: The automation can perform a complete opening and closing cycle to self-learn the door's travel and adjust limit switch settings automatically.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and reliable operation of the Ditec DOD system. The manual outlines a routine maintenance plan, recommending checks every 6 months. Key maintenance tasks include:

  • Power Disconnection: Always disconnect the power supply (230 V~) before performing any maintenance.
  • Mechanical Parts:
    • Maintain and lubricate mechanical parts, including the door closed (fully covered) mechanism.
    • Ensure cables and spring breakage devices are in perfect working order.
    • Check that lifting cables are not worn.
    • Ensure cables run smoothly on the drums.
    • Periodically grease hinges, ball bearings, wheel pins, and torsional springs.
    • Check for any obstacles that may hinder the wheels from properly running in the guides.
    • Check the correct balancing of the sectional automation.
    • Ensure the overhead sliding structure is firmly fastened to the ceiling and perfectly free from any defects, bending, or buckling.
    • Ensure no loose bolts or screws.
    • Absolutely avoid making any changes to the hoisting and/or sliding system.
  • Electrical Connections:
    • Limit switches must be working properly.
    • All control and safety functions must be in good working order.
  • Spare Parts: For repairs or replacements, only original spare parts must be used. The installer should provide all information relating to automatic, manual, and emergency operation of the motor-driven door or gate, and provide the user with operating instructions. The installer must prepare a maintenance log, which will indicate all the interventions of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance carried out.

The system is designed for installation and maintenance by qualified personnel, adhering to Good Engineering Practice and all relevant regulations to ensure safety and proper functioning.
