10.7 Clipper Slack Fill Adjustment
The clipper can vary the amount of slack filled casing on each package. This is accomplished by varying
the extend direction of the movable voider plates, which are extended by the voider spread cylinder. The
voider drive shaft is coupled to the voider spread cylinder. When the cylinder extends, the coupling moves
until it comes in contact with the stop block. The amount of movement of the movable voider plates is
controlled by the position of the stop block, which is adjustable.
The stop block has both coarse and fine adjustments.
Coarse adjustments are made by removing the slack fill coarse adjustment pin and moving the stop block
along the series of position holes. The position holes provide adjustment intervals of 0.75 inch (19 mm).
Fine adjustments are made by moving the position of the slack fill fine adjustment ring. After the stop
block has been set and the pin replaced, loosen the lock knob, and turn the fine adjustment ring. Turn the
ring clockwise to provide additional slack. Turn the ring counterclockwise to provide less slack.
