Wear Plate Sharpening
• Take the Chipper Knife to a machine shop for proper sh

• The knife should never be sharpened to the extent that more than 3/32" is taken off this
measurement.
• Once this measurement is below 1.485" (see Figure 43 “Sharpened Knife”), or if you are unable
remove dents or gouges with these guidelines, replace the Knife.
The Wear Plate edges become rounded and chipped during
use and must be squared off to ensure efficient operation.

gap between the Knife and Wear Plate can not be set with the
