Start bartack Secures the start of a seam.
Stitch count Indicates the number of stitches per minute.
Stitch length Defines the distance between two sequential
stitches in the seam direction.

Can be activated if the machine supports a second
stitch length:

Thread Generic term for hook thread and needle thread.
Thread clamp Securely holds the thread to ensure proper forma-
tion of the stitch (clamp thread).
Thread trimmer Cuts the sewing thread after each sewing process.
Sits under the fabric support surface.
User level Controls authorizations, which processes can be
performed on the control. There are 2 levels:
