13. TESTING
It is the responsibility of the person testing and configuring the automatic gate opener (of which the control
unit is part) to conduct the checks required in relation to the existing risk and to check compliance with the
applicable legislation and standards, in particular with EN 12453, which specifies performance requirements for
operational safety.
Testing and trial runs are the most important steps in an installation to ensure maximum operational safety.
Inspections and testing procedures can also be used for routine checks of the device and its equipment.
The device may only be tested if a non-hazardous force tolerance has been set. The force tolerance must be
set to a minimum value to avoid the risk of injury during the closing sequence.
The maximum force must be set in accordance with EN 12453.
Do not touch the gate or movable parts while they are moving.
Stay at a safe distance while the gate is moving. Cross only when the gate is fully open and motionless.
In the event of a malfunction (noise, abrupt movements, etc.), stop using the device immediately: failure to
comply with this rule may lead to serious dangers, risk of accidents and/or severe damage to the gate and the
device.
Check if the recommendations given in the sections SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS AND WARNINGS and
INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS AND WARNINGS have been strictly followed.
Ensure that the device is correctly set and that the safety and release systems work properly.
ATTENTION: once the device has been tested, its parameters must not be changed. If further changes are made
(e.g. change in voltage value), all checks required for testing and compliance with EN 12453 must be repeated.
