SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. This manual contains important instrucons that should be
followed during installaon and maintenance of the UPS and baeries.
The 9A models that are covered in this manual are intended for installaon in an
environment within 0 to 40 °C, free of conducve contaminant.
Please check section "6.1 Equipment care", page 28, for additional information.

The following are examples of symbols used on the UPS or accessories to alert you to
important information:
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK - Observe the warning associated with the risk of electric
shock symbol.
Important instrucons that must always be followed.
Informaon, advice, help.
Refer to the user manual of UPS accessories.
Safety of persons
• The system has its own power source (the baery). Consequently, the power outlets may
be energized even if the systems is disconnected from the AC power source. Dangerous
voltage levels are present within the system. It should be opened exclusively by qualied
service personnel.
• The system must be properly grounded.
• The baery supplied with the system contains small amounts of toxic materials.
To avoid accidents, the direcves listed below must be observed:
෮ Servicing of baeries should be performed or supervised by personnel knowledgeable
about baeries and the required precauons.
෮ When replacing baeries, replace with the same type and number of baeries or bat-
tery packs.
෮ Do not dispose of baeries in a re. The baeries may explode.
෮ Baeries constute a danger (electrical shock, burns). The short-circuit current may
be very high.
• Precauons must be taken for all handling:
෮ Wear rubber gloves and boots.
