3. UPS Only: Plug the power cord provided with the IBM equipment
into the input connector on the UPS rear panel (see Figure 30 on
page 24).
UPS with PDM: Plug the power cord provided with the IBM
equipment into the input connector on the PDM rear panel (see
Figure 33 on page 28).
4. Plug the other end of the power cord into a power outlet. All UPS
front panel indicators f lash briefly and the UPS conducts a self-test.
When the self-test is complete, the
μ
indicator flashes, indicating
the UPS is in Standby mode.
5. Press the On
button.
The
μ
indicator stops flashing and the bar graph indicators display
the percentage of load being applied t o t he UPS. The UPS is now in
Normal mode and supplying power to your equipment.
To change the factory-set defaults, see “Configuration Mode” on
page 37.
NOTE The batteries charge to 90% capacity in approximately 3 hours. However, it is
recommended that the batteries charge for 24 hours after installation or long-term storage.
