4-1 Inspecting air lter (continued)
8. If a large amount of oil sticks on air lter, wash
away oil with non-inammable solvent/detergent.
NOTE: Finding oil on air lter mesh
Oil on air lter mesh may close texture hole. By
that air coming into engine can be blocked.
To nd such oil take the following.
a) Disassemble air lter assy.
b) Touch air lter mesh by nger tip from oppo-
site side.
c) If your ngerprint is clearly shown as picture, it
is a clue that much oil is on the mesh.
9. If dirt/dust or oil is not cleaned away, or if dam-
aged, repla ce with new one.
10. When washing air filter (E), dry it completely
before reinstallation.
11. Reinstall air lter (E) and reassemble air clean-
er cover (D).
