8-5 Removing engine block (continued)
4. Remove three bolts (E) from engine cover.
5. Pull out engine block (F) as shown.

8-6 Inspectingcylinder
1. Remove four bolts (A) securing cylinder (B) and
remove cylinder (B).
NOTE : If it’s hard to remove cylinder (B), gently
tap both crankshaft ends using plastic mallet (C) to
remove crankcase assembly with crankshaft and
piston assembly, holding cylinder (B).
2. Inspect cylinder combustion chamber and clean
with a plastic or wooden scraper if carbon is found.
NOTE: Do not use metal tools, or damage to cylin-
der wall may result.
3. Inspect cylinder wall and replace with new one if
plating is worn, peeled away, scored or exposing
cylinder base metal.
