If navigation signal is lost or invalid, the HDI pointer is removed, the associated
text turns red and a red X covers the HDI.

The PFD displays a vertical deviation (glide slope) indicator when VLOC1 or
VLOC2 is tuned to and receiving a localizer frequency.
