Chapter 5 Conducting an Ambulatory BP Study
5.1 Programming the Monitor
Before an ambulatory BP study, you need to set the parameters for your study to be programmed
into the monitor as below.
1. Click Program in the main screen.
2. Enter patient ID, name, gender, age, and accession number. For the generation of patient ID,
see section 9.1 General Setting. Patient information can be customized. For more information,
see section 9.2 Patient Information Setting.
3. Select the desired measuring time and intervals in the form. Two additional measurement
periods are available. Select a start time, an end time, and intervals from the pull-down list.
4. Click Register. The above patient information and measuring program are sent to the
monitor.
NOTE: Besides measuring program setup, a default measuring program is available in
the monitor: Awake portion starts from 7:00 am with a measuring interval of 30 min;
asleep portion starts from 22:00 pm with a measuring interval of 60 min. To run the
default program, click Restore Default Program.
Register before conducting a study
In the Program screen, enter patient information and measuring program before conducting a BP
study.
1. Enter patient information.
2. Enter the desired measuring time and intervals in the form.
3. Click Save. The patient information and measuring program is saved to the Register DB
folder.
Starting study in 5 min
If selected, the study will automatically start in 5 minutes after programming.
If not selected, the study will be started with the first press of the Start/Stop button when the
monitor is powered on.
Display off
If selected, the OLED display of monitor turns itself off in the Auto measurements.
If not selected, the OLED display never turns itself off in the Auto measurements.
