7.8 Statistics
To view the statistical analysis for the displayed study, click on the Statistics tab. This window
initially shows the following tables:
Overall: Data for the complete ABPM study.
Day: Data collected while the patient is awake.
Night: Data collected while the patient is asleep.
The Statistics tab can also shows the additional time periods, which show tables with data
collected during other time periods as programmed.
In the Statistics tab, each table includes the calculation of valid data, the mean values, standard
deviation, maximum values, minimum values, coefficient of variation (CV), BP load, asleep dip,
morning surge, morning BP, and AASI.
Coefficient of variation: The coefficient of variation (CV) can be used as a measure of BP
variability, which can be a determinant of end-organ damage.
AASI (ambulatory arterial stiffness index): This index has been used to measure arterial
stiffness and has been shown to help predict target organ damage, cardiovascular mortality,
and stroke.
7.9 Conclusion
This tab provides an interpretative summary according to the official guidance and statistics.
Select the following guideline you want from the drop-down list:
2017 ACC/AHA hypertension guidelines
2018 ESC/ESH Guidelines for the Management of Arterial Hypertension
Chinese Guidelines for Prevention and Treatment of Hypertension
The summary provides normal or hypertensive results for the 24-hour average, day, and night
systolic and diastolic pressure readings if the data collected is adequate.
To draw a conclusion, you can manually enter a conclusion to the text box, or choose from the
diagnosis list on the left. Double click the diagnostic statement you want. It appears in the
conclusion. You can add, edit, and delete the statements in this diagnosis list.
To sign on the report, type your name in the text box beside Physician. You can also predefine
a name list by selecting Edit from the drop-down list. In the pop-up window, click Add to add
physician’s name to this list. With this name list, you can also delete or modify the names.
