Chapter 10 Error Codes
Error codes appears when abnormality occurs during the operation of ABPM. Error codes do not
automatically indicate that a reading is invalid. They serve only as guides to help you use the
ABPM.
Table 10-1 Error codes and description
Transducer or other hardware
failure
Measure again, if failure
persists, stop measuring and
notify biomedical engineer or
manufacturer’s service staff.
Pressure exceeded the
specified upper safety limit.
The initial pressure was too
high during measuring.
Loose cuff or
disconnected
Cuff was loose or not applied.
Failed to deflate normally
during the leak test, so leak
test could not be finished.
Test again. If the problem
still exists, contact your
service personnel.
System Pressure
Abnormality
ABPM failed to deflate, so
the system pressure is
unchanged.
Check whether the airway is
occluded or pressure sensor
works properly. If the
problem still exists, contact
your service personnel.
Weak Oscillometric
Signal
Cuff was too loose or patient
pulse was too weak.
Use other methods to
measure blood pressure.
Results outside of
published range
The BP was out of the
published range.
Artifact/erratic
oscillometric signal
Signal noise was too large or
pulse rate was irregular due to
the patient movement.
Make sure that the patient
under monitoring is
motionless.
Auxiliary
Over-Pressure
Protection
Pressure exceeded the first or
second auxiliary safety limit
as specified.
Notify biomedical engineer
or manufacturer’s service
staff.
Transducer was faulty or
ABPM was not calibrated.
Contact your service
personnel.
Measuring time exceeded the
specified time limit.
Measure again or use other
measuring method.
