Starting just below zipper bottom stop, sew across
fabric to about 3/8" (1 cm) distance from the
basting line.
Turn fabric 90 degrees and sew a seam the entire
length of the zipper tape. Before reaching the slider,
stop the machine with needle in fabric and raise the
foot. Use seam ripper to open a few inches of
basting
stitch.

At the end of seam, sew a few stitches in reverse
to
lock. Once both sides of zipper are sewn, use the
seam ripper to open the basting stitch.
