Backlash between Hook Gear and Lower Shaft Gear
The rotary play of the hook point should be 0.8 mm or less when it is in between the span of the feed
dog teeth and, the gears should turn smoothly.
Adjustment procedure:
1. Remove the needle plate and bobbin holder.
2. Remove the front cover (See page 8.).
3. Loosen the setscrew A.
4. If the rotary play E is too large: Turn the lower shaft bushing B in the direction of C.
5. If the rotary play E is too small: Turn the lower shaft bushing B in the direction of D.
6. Tighten the setscrew A.
7. Attach the front cover.
8. Attach the bobbin holder and needle plate.
Note:
After adjustment of the backlash, check the needle timing to hook and feed dog height, and adjust
them if necessary
