3.5 Steering Friction Adjustment/Lock
Steering Friction can be varied by adjustment to the damping screw (at bottom of clamp bracket
damping shaft). If this screw is tightened further the steering can also be locked, when using a
boat with its own rudder, for example.
Step 1: Adjust the heading of the outboard motor as desired.

Step 2: Tighten the damping screw with a 10mm Hex wrench.
