Media Type
There are actually two Media Type settings; the setting in your
printer driver and the setting on your printer’s control panel.
You need to make the Media Type setting in your driver every
time, even if you set the Mode to Automatic. You do not have
to make the Media Type setting on your printer’s control panel,
but it is recommended.
The printer’s Media Type setting acts as a warning or reminder
for when you or someone else selects the wrong Media Type in
the software. To disable this, select
Other/Media Selection
Off
on the printer’s control panel. To make the printer’s Media
Type setting, push the
Media Type
button repeatedly until the
lights on the control panel indicate the type of media loaded in
the printer.
To make the Media Type setting in your software, access the
printer software as described on page 4-4 and see the following
to determine the Media Type setting (shown in bold) for your
paper. First find your paper in the list below, then select the
corresponding Media Type setting in your software.
