GS r, which is the upward-compatible command replacing ESC u, is recommended for use, since
ESC u is an obsolete command in the ESC/POS

command system.

Bit Off/On Hex Decimal Status
0 Off 00 0 Drawer kick out connector pin 3 is LOW.
On 01 1 Drawer kick out connector pin 3 is HIGH.
1 - 3 -- -- -- Reserved.
4 Off 00 0 Fixed.
5, 6 -- -- -- Reserved.
7 Off 00 0 Fixed.
[Note] • When this command is transmitted, the data following must not be transmitted until
the status is received.

2, 3 Off 00 0 Roll paper end sensor: paper present.
On 0C 12 Roll paper end sensor: paper not present.

5, 6 -- -- -- Reserved.
7 Off 00 0 Fixed.
Bits 2 and 3: While the cover is opening, this shows the state when the cover was still
closed (this command cannot be executed).
