RAW WATER SYSTEM
8.1 General
In the raw or seawater systems, each baitwell
seawater pump is mounted to a seacock on a
thru-hull tting located in the aft systems com-
partment bilge. The water system pressure pump
is connected to an auxiliary supply tting at the
base of the baitwell pump. Always make sure all
valves are open before attempting to operate any
component of the raw water system.
Notice:
Your boat could be equipped with one or two
baitwells and baitwell pumps, depending on
the options selected.
Priming the System
Make sure the seacock valve is open and the Raw
Water switch in the helm switch panel or touch
screen display is on. Run the pressure pump by
turning on the raw water washdown hose nozzle
until all of the air is purged from the system, then
turn the nozzle o. Turn the baitwell switch on
and run the baitwell pump until all of the air is
purged from the system, then turn the pump o.
If your boat is equipped with two baitwells, repeat
the priming process for the other baitwell pump.
The intake for each baitwell centrifugal pump is
equipped with a scoop and ball valve. If the pump
runs but will not prime, make sure the valve is
open. If the pump still won’t prime, it may be
air locked. Make sure the valve is open and run
the boat at or above 15 M.P.H. Water pressure
from the scoop will force the trapped air through
the pump and allow it to prime. If this procedure
doesn’t work, contact your dealer.
Closing the thru-hull valves before the boat is
hauled from the water will help to eliminate air
locks in the raw water system. The valves should
also be closed whenever you leave the boat unat-
tended.
Notice:
It may be necessary to reprime the raw wa-
ter system if it is not used for an extended
period and at the time of launching.
Chapter 8:
8.2 Raw Water System Operation
A high pressure pump, controlled by a pressure
sensor, is activated by the Raw Water switch.
When activated, the pressure switch will auto-
matically control the pump that supplies the raw
water hose connection.
As the pressure builds in the system, the pump
will shut o. When the system is in use and the
pressure drops, the pump will turn on. The water
