10.4 Maintenance
• Periodically lubricate all hinges and latch as-
semblies with a light oil.
• Periodically clean and coat gasket materials
with silicone to help keep them pliable.
• The opening port window is made of acrylic
plastic glass. Acrylic glass scratches easily.
Never use a dry cloth or glass cleaning solu-
tions on acrylic glass. Use a soft cloth and
mild soap and water for routine cleaning.
Solvents and products containing ammonia
can permanently damage acrylic glass. Refer
to the Routine Maintenance chapter for more
information on the proper maintenance for
acrylic plastic glass.
• Keep the windshield slide tracks clean. Peri-
odically coating the tracks with silicone spray
will reduce friction and keep the windshield
sliding smoothly.
• Check the oil level in the windshield hydraulic
pump Reservoir frequently. Use only hydraulic
oil meeting the pump manufacturer’s specica-
tions when adding oil. Refer to the pump manu-
facturer’s operating and information manual for
information on the operation and maintenance
of the hydraulic system and oil specications.
• Periodic inspection and cleaning of the bilge
and aft systems compartment ventilation ducts
is necessary to ensure adequate air circulation.
A buildup of leaves, twigs or other debris can
severely reduce ventilation.
