1. For Your Safety
This chapter sets out the intended use and safety instructions to ensure safe and trouble-free
operation of the machine and its associated software. It also describes handling and storage
conditions.
The instructions contained in this manual must be adhered to in particular the safety
instructions. Ensure that all "Persons" (page 155) have access to the manual.
Before carrying out any operation on the machine, it is imperative to read this
chapter and fully understand it. In case of any doubt, consult your local service
organisation.
1.1. Intended use of coee machines
The coee machine is exclusively intended to grind, brew and dispense hot coee, hot water, hot
milk, cold milk, steam (depending on model) and powder based products (depending on option).
The coee machine is designed for indoor usage and is intended for commercial use only (e.g. food
services, restaurants and hotels).
Do not use this coee machine to produce any other product or for any other purpose.
To change coee settings it is necessary to have the appropriate access rights. Please
refer to chapter User Rights (page 159) for more details.
1.1.1. Enigma | Shotmaster model types
Three Enigma & Shotmaster models are available, intended to dispense:
• c; dispense coee, hot water and powder based products (depending on option).
• s, s-pro, s x-wide; coee, hot water, steam and powder based products (depending on option).
• ms, ms-pro, ms x-wide; coee, hot water, steam, milk and powder based products (depending on
option).
Classic and ST are design variants.
Accessories designed for use with Enigma and Shotmaster:
• E'choco; connected accessory to dispense powder products (e.g. Choco).
• E'fridge; standalone fridge.
• E'cup heater; standalone cup warmer.
1.2. Safety introduction
1.2.1. Importance of the safety instructions
In order to prevent accidents to persons, damage to equipment or pollution of the environment, you
must comply with all the safety instructions in the manual and on the machine.
