Dielectricgreaseshouldnotbeappliedtosealed
connectors.
Adjustments
Note:DisengagePTO,shutoffengine,waitfor
allmovingpartstostop,engageparkingbrake,and
removekeybeforeservicing,cleaning,ormakingany
adjustmentstotheunit.
CAUTION
Raisingthemowerdeckforserviceor
maintenancerelyingsolelyonmechanical
orhydraulicjackscouldbedangerous.The
mechanicalorhydraulicjacksmaynotbeenough
supportormaymalfunctionallowingtheunitto
fall,whichcouldcauseinjury.
DoNotrelysolelyonmechanicalorhydraulic
jacksforsupport.Useadequatejackstandsor
equivalentsupport.
DeckLeveling
1.Positionmoweronaatsurface.
2.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removekey.Engageparkingbrake.
3.Checktirepressureindrivetires.Properination
pressurefortiresis10psi(69kPa).Adjustif
necessary.
4.Setanti-scalprollerstotopholesorremovethem
completelyforthisadjustment.
5.Raisethedecktothe5inch(12.7cm)height
position(alsotransportposition)andtakeallforce
offofthetwolargedeckliftspringsbyloosening
thenutsatthefrontofeachspring(
Figure18).
6.Lowerthedecktothe1inch(2.54cm)height
position.Forcetheleftreardecksupportarm
downwardabout1/4inch(6.4mm)togetthe
decktorestatthe1inchheightposition.Place
lockingpliersbetweentherearswivelandspring
stoptoholdthedeckinthisposition(
Figure18).
7.Placea3/4inch(19mm)thickblockofwood
undereachofthetworearanti-scalproller
bracketsandplaceoneunderoneofthefront
centeranti-scalprollerbrackets.
8.Loosenthetwotopchainboltsinslotsintherear
deckliftarms.Loosenjamnutsandbackoffthe
socketheadadjustingscrewsonthebottomof
thearmsuntilthechainsarejustloose.Turnthe
socketheadadjustingscrewsinuntilslackistaken
outofeachchain.Tightenthejamnuts.Tighten
