6. Set the Quantum power switch or switches to On. (The power switches are on
the front panel behind the access door. See Front Panel Features, beginning on
page 52.)
WARNING: To avoid the risk of electric shock or product damage due to
condensation, always allow the Quantum processor to become acclimated to
ambient temperature and humidity for at least 30 minutes before switching it
on. This is particularly important when you are moving the unit from a cold to a
warm location.
7. (Optional) Configure the IP address using the Control Panel. The Quantum processor
is a host device with a Windows XP operating system of which the Control Panel
is a component. To view and use the Control Panel, you must have a keyboard,
mouse, and monitor connected to the appropriate cards in the Quantum chassis (see
Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, USB, and Media Cards on page 46 for information
on connecting these items. See Using the Control Panel on page 61 for information
on this feature).
8. (Optional) Configure the IP address of the QC 101 Controller. This optional controller
connects to a control system via RS-232 and to the Quantum processor via Ethernet.
It has an embedded operating system and is provided with the Quantum Control
Software. Attach a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to this controller to configure
it. See QC 101 Controller, beginning on page 69, for more information on this
controller.
9. Install and set up the Quantum Control software on your computer (see the Quantum
Control Software User Guide, available on the provided Quantum software CD). See
Installing the Software on page 67 for information on obtaining and starting the
Windows-based control software.
10. Use the Quantum Control Software to configure sources and displays for your
videowall system (see the control program help file for the procedures).
NOTE: Steps 8 and 9 can be performed without the inputs, outputs, or any other
hardware being connected to the Quantum.
